That feather was so cute!

I have read the first 50 s. from 2009 .. Kenny wroted May 31 when Spot is newborn aboute the egg and a chick is born. "Is it a new eaglet or may be a spotlet?"Jo UK wrote: Oliv, pleae can you remind me - why did we call him Spot?
Was there a spot on the egg, on his feather - or???
Later we was talking aboute Spot Sr and for her siblings Spot Jr.
I think the namne came from Lesser spotted eagle.

Does he sleep alone in the nest? Where is his mother?

Kalev has, mostly, slept alone in the nest for some weeks now. We think/hope the parents are near though, because sometimes he is chirping and talking to someone out of our view.lukris wrote:

Oh, alright. I was just wondering if he is big enough to bee alone during the night... After what happened to Stephi... I have not watched this nest very often during evenings, but still I opened all the cameras at least once a day, however I watched Stephi more often, then Kalev.Lussi05 wrote: Kalev has, mostly, slept alone in the nest for some weeks now. I always thought the name "Spot" was my faultJo UK wrote:Oliv, pleae can you remind me - why did we call him Spot?

When I was a kid, our early readers were about a dog named "Spot" and then when we had this beautiful LSE chick, I started to call her "Spot" ( a bit in fun, based on her being a SPOTted eagle) - and the name stuck.

Good morning
It's a wet morning. I think I see a mole in the nest. I don't remember if it was there yesterday, or if it has been a delivery this morning.
08:41 - Kalev is doing exercise in the rain..
Is it a mole by his talons?
This was a quick look before I have to leave for work. Have a nice day

That mole is from yesterday I think. I have it on my pic from 20.37, but to the left. It is the same one.

I always just thought of it as a diminutive of Spotted.

He is just soaked poor little thing. his nest looks so small too bad it isn't larger so he can have more room to practice running and jumping. I notice the nest is so soft looking too if it were a little harder I bet he would have better foot traction. well the parents know what they are doing. LOLStarling wrote:Poor Kalev. Still raining...
