I opened the cam around 14:30 and Miks was home alone:

14:45 - Metra returned, and first I did not think it was her because she looked so different. She turned out to be soaking wet, I really wonder what she has been doing

- she almost looke a bit confused or frightened:

14:57 - Metra is shaking her feathers and preening, she needs to dry up..





- Miks is lying calm.

Metra feeding old leftovers, I think Miks gives preference to fresh

7:10 - Metra and Miks still sleep

7:40 - Miks is awake, Metra takes a mouse from stock and get feeding

09:12 - It is much wind again this morning:

09:26 - Miks was alone in the nest, s/he was cleaning feathers:

09:28 - Metra returned with a stick:

- I do not like to see Miks alone when it is so windy..

Miks is sometimes completely out of sight - the wind is hard



But Miks keeps laying down flat in the nestbowl

Metra back with prey, maybe she hunted it herself, I didn`t see a change of the vole ... and she begins feeding Miks

19:31 - Food for Miks:

20:05 - Ravens are calling in the neighbourhood, and Metra is aware..

- but Miks is safe under mum

Mētra shelters her chick, Miks, from the rainy morning.



I am sorry to learn of the second chick, but at least it did not have to endure abuse for very long.
