Kip, yes he is a very handsome Osprey! He has taken good care of our Iris today too! :)
If Stanley doesn't make it back, I hope these two raise a family.
I don't want to think that we won't see our Stanley again.

Uta, Chimega and Kip, what does everyone think about the egg Iris layed today,5th of May, do you think that it was fertilized by the New Guy? The New Guy has only been with Iris for a few days. The Twitter feed is treating this new egg as if it is a good egg. I would like that to be true for Iris but I have my doubts.
Thoughts?

Hi,Cessie!
My opinion only:
The new male i have seen on Iris nest at first April25th.
Next day short visit from him and he was back April27th. I was thinking ,he wants to have Iris her fish. Now i know, that is not true.
May3th he fly in with fish but on nest were 4 ospreys with him.So he fly up.
Later Iris got a other fish from him.All time it was the same guy.He was so much remember me on Stan, thats why i shure. And yes,he was mating with Iris any days before. I think the second egg in nest(one stolen by raven) is a good egg.
May be she lai egg4.This egg will be 100% good by so a lot of mating and Iris was very willing by mating.
I have any videos and pictures from him.

Hi Uta, yes, even Dr. Greene wrote that 'new guy' did fertilize Iris's egg! I don't know if 'New Guy' knows that it is his egg too, because the egg came so soon in courtship!
This might explain why he doesn't incubate the eggs yet.
He is a handsome Osprey and I'm glad that he showed up at the nest! <3 :)

Great news that NG is incubating the eggs!
This will be our first time seeing a chick try to hatch with extra eggshell.

Extra eggshell is gone.

Dr. Erick Greene has named the new male, finally.

His name is Louis. He is named after a very esteemed Native American from the area who just recently passed away.

Here is a story about Louis.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
