Re: Hellgate Osprey Webcam

Post by Susie »

Hi folks! :wave:
I want to post this link from the latest happenings at hellgate cause I've never watched such aggressive behavior among osprey siblings. Do you think, this was a "normal" dispute?

@Susie,

This looked worse than it actually was, and it's a completely normal case of sibling rivalry. 30 minutes or so after this happened both were eating a fish like nothing ever happened.

Great news from Hellgate.
Iris arrived Hellgate 04-05-15.
She was seen on the fishpol and for a short time on her nest. To much building work near the nest.
Will she stay on here nest or will she looking for a new nest?There is a other unused nest by the same River.
We will see. :bow:

The osprey that we all thought was Iris is not her! It's an imposter! Iris came back yesterday afternoon, late. 04-06-2016 :loveshower: :thumbs: The imposter fooled everyone!

You're welcome. :hi:

For some reason, Iris is not eating fish on the pole but she did bring fish to the nest and eat some of it on there plus she is starting to bring sticks and fix the nest which is a good thing!! Midas has been around, checking things out, too. grrrr. lol

Stanley is not back yet.
There was an intruder en now there is an egg.
Assuming egg is fertile, highly unlikely egg will hatch because she can't protect & brood while fishing for herself.
Iris wants her husband :rolleyes:

Kip, I read and saw pictures of 2 or 3 ospreys on Iris's nest today! Now I'm watching the cam and it appears that she has accepted a new male! The better picture is that if these new Ospreys arrived at Hellgate today, Stanley might arrive too!!! :)
