Dyfi livestream is back up again.
In the grand course of events this will be nothing more than just a minor interruption.
Heartwarming to see all the support the Dyfi Osprey Project got the last two days, and the sheer determination of the DOP team to get it back running a.s.a.p.

I suppose there will be an update of the DOP facebook site later on today.

Phew! A big thank you to all the people who made it possible to watch the nest again. Last year, Monty arrived on 08 April and Glesni on 10 April, hopefully they are on their journey now.

Bore da

This morning we've taken the regrettable decision to remove the two ravens that have been using the osprey nest for the last few weeks.

Due to their ability to mimic ambient sounds around them, the pair were duplicating the automated train information broadcasts from the nearby platform at Dyfi Junction.

With the recent high winds, their calls were audible on the platform causing massive confusion to passengers, resulting in delays and bafflement. The repetitive raven announcements caused one elderly couple to alight their train on the wrong side of the track sending them in the wrong direction; they ended up in Llanffŵlheddiw - almost 50 miles away.

Both birds will be transported and re-homed on Paid Coelio Island, just off the Pembrokeshire coast, far away from any train services. Ravens are highly intelligent birds and the pair will be blindfolded for their journey so they don't remember their way back.

ARRIVA Trains have asked us to apologise for any inconvenience.

OSPREY!!!!

At 07:49 an osprey landed on the Dyfi nest. It's not Monty or Glesni though; it's our old friend Dai Dot!

Dai bred for the first time last year at a nest in mid-Wales and fathered two chicks.

The arrival window is open, get the keys ready, start....
