I opened this cam and see the older chick is fledged. :loveshower: Yesterday the cam was off, so I don't know exactly, if he/she fledged today or yesterday...
Image

The second chick is still finished his fishtail... :whistling:
Image

The fledgling is back.

Later Mom brings a fish to the nest, she is fishing regularly now for the kids. It's not often to see, that the female also brings so much fish for offsprings.

The chick flies away with the fish, Mom is alone.

:hi:
I see a fish? on the nest, is it an eel? Looks, that nobody wants him to eat. Or maybe it is a snake.
Image

Mom brings a big fish to the nest. Wow, I see one chick has a ring and a transmitter. This chick grabs the fish from Mom.
Image

The other chick must wait...

Cool that they ringed and put a transmitter on the chick! I wonder why they didn't at least ring the other chick. :puzzled:
Birdfriend, if you find out the name or number of the ringed one, please post here so that we can follow it on the map. If possible.
Thank you for all the pictures!

Cessie  Sorry, the number from the ring is not to recognize. I ask me also why the other chick is not ringed.
I find nothing about this nest, it gives not a forum or a chat, on FB side is also no important reference. All what I know, that the nest is new.

Today I saw amazing Mom Shanawdithit brought in again a huge headless fish, the unringed chick takes the fish. The ringed chick was nearby, but not visible in cam view. Mom want stay a bit, then the ringed chick immediately pushed she from the nest. Not nice to see, but not abnormal at this stage.

During the unringed chick eats the fish from Mom, Dad Beaumont delivers an other huge fish to the ringed chick. These parents are great fisher!

Look at the time stamp from the next pic:
It is still the same fish. The unringed chick finally grabs the fishtail from the nest and finished him.
Image

The other left the nest.

This meal lasted nearly 4 hours, incredible!

Thank you, Birdfriend, many fishes make me so happy!!
Having food deficiencies makes me sad. Thankful that this family has a good nesting location! :D

I hope before their season ends, that they post the chicks names and how to track the ringed one.

:hi:
I guess the ringed chick with the transmitter started his/her first migration. I scrolled back and saw only one chick on the nest in the last 4 hours. If it so, then I wish this youngster a good and safe trip to the south and a long life, stay safe...

A fish delivery from Dad Beaumont earlier today.

And now...alone at home.

I'm was wrong yesterday. The ringed chick is also still there.
Dad brought a fish, at first the ringed(I think the older chick) was on the nest. Then the other sibling comes too, because Dad was nearby... :D
Then there was a tug of war for this fish, the unringed chick has learn to fight :2thumbsup: he/she bites the sibling and wins this fight.

The ringed chick was in the nest for a long time. The other sibling lands and chases the ringed chick away.
Dad Beaumont brings a fish to the nest and the unringed chick was faster back and can claims it again. The other "poor" chick has again nothing and calls for a other new fish. Some minutes later good Dad comes with a fish for this chick. Now both can eat. At this stage the unringed chick behaves more aggressive.
I guess, Mom Shanawdithit is on the way to migration, she made a good work, all the best for her.

:hi:
Both chicks are still around. The chick with the GPS-transmitter is named Tommy. I observe regulary aggressions between the siblings without a really reason. :puzzled: The unringed chick seems more aggressive to me.
