The nest is new prepared for the season 2018. Hope our ospreys come back soon.

I hope it will be a good season.

In 2016, all three chicks were killed. They were already ringed and about to fly out.
In 2017 there were invaders and the only egg was damaged.

The female has ring 9SN
The male has ring 9UF

Thank you, Bawet for sharing this link. I had not thought, that in this area an osprey pair is breeding. But the last two years were very sad, what I read from you. Fingers crossed, that they can successful in this season.

28. März 2018 - arrival!
-- Im Umfeld des Steinhuder Meeres wurde von J.R. ein erster Fischadler gemeldet. Vor der Kamera haben wir noch keinen gesehen, warten jedoch mit Spannung auf die Ankunft. --
-- In the vicinity of the Steinhuder Sea, J.R. reported a first osprey. We have not seen anyone in front of the camera, but we are waiting for the arrival. --

Female on the nest, busy with nestorations. She has a metal ring on the right foot and a black ring with number on the left.
But the distance is to far for reading.
