are crows bringing sticks or taking them away? :puzzled:
i think i've read somewhere that crows may sometimes build their nest in an old nest of bird of prey.. :dunno:

maybe we'll have a crow family here?

i think that in Fleur's video some sort of courtship was going on. in the beginning the crow sang (the clucks and brr's) and the other was dancing: bowing and displaying spread tail etc. it might have been the male perhaps. the same bird took the twig and was waving it around while the other (female?) stod on a branch in the centre and was looking around the nest (taking measurements for curtains and rugs? :whistling: )

it seems that it is well worth while keeping an eye on what will be happening here.
maybe the carpenter is making alterations in the nursery...?

Was out today until now and when checking the nestcam here I saw a large branch missing - then watched Fleurs´ video, but the Hooded Crows didn´t move it - then checked Latvian Forum and see what I found there .... on a Pontu Pic:

the eagle with rings in the Pontu picture seems to be Latvian. the colours on the right ring seem to be blue over black. (black-black would be Swedish Baltic but i don't think it's that).
on the ring ring there's certainly red on top and i think it's blue on the lower band: 1994. the other combination would be red over black but i think that would be too old (1987) or far too young (2011).

well - it's full moon tonight but, while the camera is running (you can hear it and see the date/time at the top), there is nothing showing up on screen (like the tawney owls split screen bit) - so that answers that! I wonder perhaps, if eagles did take it over, if we could hear them in the night and find out whether they get up and do stuff or not
