Silverlight is for those users who can't use Windows Media Player or other players what are capable to play MMS type of video stream. Some time ago it was necessary to use Silverlight for viewing webcams with Macs and some Linux computers. But more and more platforms support MMS streams for now.

Anyway, people who want to see the stream directly from web browser can do it with Silverlight plugin. It is like Flash.

edziks calm down, nothing wrong with your PC,
just some technical problems with new camera.
Remember last year, there were same problems sometimes.
when it doesn`t work, then it doesn`t.
We have to wait and do some other things :whistling:

Some questions and answers.

How to make screenshots of web camera with Windows Media Player?

Go to Options -> Performance and turn video acceleration slider to None. Then it is possible to make screenshots. After screenshots You can move it back to Full for better performance.

How to make Firefox recognize MMS streams (this ones what webcams use here)?

Open Firefox, type about:config in the address window, enter.
Right click and choose New, then String, enter: network.protocol-handler.app.mms. On the next pop-up box enter the path to Your Player (e.g. "/usr/bin/kaffeine" for Linux or C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe for Windows).
After that, click in the main window again and choose New and then Boolean, enter network.protocol-handler.external.mms then True.

Now You can click on MMS stream links and player will open automatically.

Knallfroesh - you can set your own forum time.
Go to User Control Panel - top right.
Then, on the left, click on board preferences. You can change your time there. I think it is set to GMT/UTC.

Let me know if you have problems.

Now, I ´ve currently no problem. Thank you :2thumbsup:
I never saw a forum so comfortably - with the possibility changing the time. Great :peek:

when i torn on cam i can watch because i have (Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:").
help me please!!!!!

Edziks - do you mean that your Windows Media Player will not play the direct stream?
Have you been to
http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/node/
click on direct stream?

Do you need to download an update for WMP? Are you using v11
If you have a working version of WMP, then it opens when you click on Direct stream.
