Oxalis (I just read that this stuff spreads -- I have had it for 25-30 years and it has just barely spread). This is the earliest I ever remember it blooming

Because the wet snow pounded my daffodils down I cut some. Typically they are all ti-winked before my mother's birthday, which was the 19th, so this is a late year

The last of the snow melted this morning and today at least until the late afternoon was quite beautiful -- sunny, but cool and breezy

And in the park near my parents' house a tree is down. I am not sure if it was the wind (I did not notice much) or the snow.

I was reading an article about how much concern there is that a cold snap on the East Coast of the US will damage things -- especially food things. Here everything is a few weeks late. I have noticed that the decorative cherry/plum tree blossoms were damaged by the snow, but as far as I can tell the fruit trees -- mine and a few around that I have noticed -- are still in their resting phase. My parents pea plants were squished flat and a branch of my neighbour's magnolia fell into my garden, but overall I think the damage won't be too bad.

Flowers are definitely beginning to bloom and I have been wondering if it is time to declare it Spring, but the rains have picked up and the temperature has fallen to back under 10C (it only just got a bit above that) so I think it is still more or less fall/winter weather except with some flowers.

I guess this thread should be called Fall/Winter since it ended in March.

Oregon Fall/Winter 2012-13

I am not sure I am really ready to accept fall -- it was about 33 degrees Celsius today but Spider season has arrived.

This one was in my house. I took its picture and then I took it outside.

Great pictures, Alice! I "have" spider outside of my office window which I sometimes get to see. The other day it caught a huge bug and "packed" it up for later. Autumn has started here too. But in earnest, it's much colder, and now the trees show it in their leaves as well. Fascinating to see how it really happens "over night".

The upper spider caught a big bug today -- it is in the garage but I am content to let it stay there. It is in front of a window on the garage door, opening the door poses no danger to the spider (or me) so I will let the spider stay there eating the annoying bugs that get in.

A spider is living right outside by our front door. It can be a dangerous place, because I sometimes hit his web (is it the right word?) when I sweep the floor. But he dosen't give up, and next time I look, a new web is on place. I think It's a good place to hunt, because It's always a lot of insects, mostly flies, captured in it
It brings bad luck to kill a spider, so we always treat them well.
Great pictures, Alice:)

Today I finally have taken some fall leaf kind of pictures (and I managed to fall on my camera, scratching the rim of the protective lens cover  ) but I am too tired to process them yet -- so first a few from the last couple of days

(not terribly fally/autumnal)

I guess you can tell I go around poking my camera into people's flowers on a regular basis.
