Oh dear --
I finally cleaned up my computer so there was room for my images, and I moved them off the camera and on to the computer -- about a month's worth of images, but they are numbered willy nilly. I am not sure about their order, which will make telling the story of the seasons a bit difficult.
I need to make them smaller -- so it will still be a day or so, but here is one. I was so thrilled to get a bird picture.
Varied Thrush -- the dramatic larger bird and a Junco the smaller closer bird -- oh there are two of them.

I think these are from about November 20th -- before we had our little snow fall
These are maples -- maybe sunset maples. There are bare birches to the right and behind the little maples are Sweet Gum trees.
One of my Sweet Gums
This tree is still full of leaves but now they are a sort of ugly greeny browny.

Oops I was supposed to work on more pictures
Here are a couple pictures my dad sent me today --taken with his new bird camera
Yellow-rumped Warbler (sitting in a flowering current bush -- a native variety, which you can see is already budding)
Varied Thrush

Hello Alice,
thanks (to your father as well) for those two nice pics! Bird cam sounds interesting! Can you please ask him for some more details? Is he digiscoping?

This is just a little light camera that has a lot of zoom to the lens -- it is small and light. I think it is something a bit like this --
http://www.consumersearch.com/ultra-zoo ... t-sx120-is. He complains the pictures tend to be a little dark. He had been looking for a long lens but they are very expensive so he thought he would try this. I know he is looking for a spotting scope (my mother does not have binocular vision so binoculars don't work for her) but I don't think he thought about using that with his camera.
I know the yellow rumped warbler was at least 20-25 feet away (at the back of the garden) and on the other side of a window from where he was standing in his dinning room.

Another photo from my father
An Evening Grosbeak on the feeder
I noticed I am still in the Fall and really
it is winter. While I was out raking leaves today I came upon a plastic bag and found ice! So it must be winter but at the same time -- as I was walking past the weed patch of Blue Bells and they they are coming up a whole patch of fresh green shoots.

What lovely photos, Alice, both yours & your dad's. We don't have the chestnut chickadee here in Missouri, only the black-capped chickadee. Yours is a chipper looking little fellow.

My big camera seems dead -- at least my computer cannot read the memory card and the battery of the little camera will not come out to be recharged. I am sure it used to come out a little when you opened the battery door. I am ready to cry.

Carmel -- I don't have the new computer yet. They are shipping it to me. I think it might arrive tomorrow/today or the day after -- Tuesday or Wednesday.
I got the battery out of the point and shoot camera -- but it appears to have swollen it was cracked when I was given the used camera years ago and I fear it is now worse. I think I will walk around the block (it is colder but not raining) have a beer and go to bed.

Alice what a pity about the battery..please be careful those things are dangerous matrials. I hope it hasn't leaked and damaged the insides of camera.
Don't cry..
maybe a local photo shop can find you one ? Or a local Photographer's Club ? Or even the birding community ?

Thank you for your kind words -- the computer arrived today, but I think it will Thursday before I get to it
At least I will still have an XP computer so my old programs will work.
The battery is not leaking but it will be off to the recycle center as soon as I get the information about it written down. I will see if I can get a replacement.
