Looks as much snow as here, Alice! Although - it even snowed yesterday morning, but by evening it was all gone, it was raining the whole evening and night and the day was sunny and warm - we had temperatures around 12, 13° (~ mid 50ies!) today! Weather is absolutely crazy and we are all curious how it will be this year!

We rarely have snow -- we had some in the 80s during the cold years, but normally we get an inch or so which is usually gone in a day or two. Typically if it is below freezing it the sky is clear and it is dry.

Birdwatching today -- it is winter and there are not that many birds.

The crocuses are up and blooming and the first snow of the year is just now falling.

Crocus I have not yet seen, but snowdrops (http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/node/12532) I have seen pushing out. Translating the article yesterday I found, that it must be quite late this year

The crocus are beautiful, Alice! Seeing them, I know it is spring!

Oh, Alice, these are wonderful pictures. I envy you having flowers pretty much all year round. I do think there will be a few early daffodils around here next week if it stays as warm as it has been, though, & crocuses, too, probably. but no violets, certainly no camellias or any such thing.

So now that it is officially Spring, it is snowing.

I hope when I get up in the morning it will be melted, but for a night we are white.

Snow when everyone else starts spring?

It has stuck!

My dad sent me pictures of the snow on his flowers -- I will post one or two later.

The whole of the USA is having topsy-turvy odd weather this year!

Same place other angle (very near where I saw the White-breasted Nuthatch in the sun other other afternoon). I think you can tell the river is high, there might be flooding if the snow in the local hills melts quickly in a day or two.

I do not know what this is -- bulbs I bought years ago. It is in a ceramic pot under the snow. This bulb blooms after most of the crocus are starting to wilt.

Such pretty flowers in the snow! I can see the Willamette is running high!

Beautiful pictures of the flowers with snow, and of the Willamette river, Alice. Is it unusual or usual with snow in the winter where you live? We have had a warmer winter and spring than the past three years. All the snow is gone, and today I found the first Liverleafe/Squirrel cups/Blue anemone (all these name came up when I looked in the dictionary) - Hepatica nobilis. It's very early. Thank you for sharing the pictures with us Alice

Lussi -- I am not sure what is normal because it has been changing. In my youth one or two little snowfalls a year were typical. Often only an inch or two. About 15 years ago we had a 30 cm or so snow fall in the middle of February. Since then we have not had much snow. A couple years ago we had a 10 cm snow fall. It was odd because it was cold and the snow lasted for days. Usually if it is cold enough to snow there are no clouds.

Having a full day of falling snow in March -- warm snow it was about 1C -- is completely out of my memory. We had an ice storm -- freezing rain -- in March, once. I just read an article that says maybe in 1936 there was snow in Portland Oregon in April, but otherwise no measurable snowfall in March in 60 years.

At the link below, there is a map that demonstrates Kitty's statement that weather in the US is all mixed up. The blue areas are colder than normal while the red areas are warmer than normal.

Later tonight I hope to post a few more snow/flower pictures -- if they came out. Today was dry and the snow has mostly melted.

I simply did not take many pictures of the snow -- I guess I should find one of the footsteps as well

There is a big puddle so people had to walk up on the snow to avoid it.
