Autumn in Austria

This is a part of a mountain that is visible from my house.
Some of the trees are larches - in the upcoming weeks they will turn yellow/orange. And we can also expect snow quite soon (well actually it has already been snowing on September 14th, but the snow melted soon again).

Thanks, Ricky.
That looks like a good place to walk - trees and clear areas.

Snow already! It has been as warm as 30c here in the last few days -- of course the evenings are much cooler than they were during summer.

This is a pic from that snowy day - taken a bit above the tree line (tree line is about 2000m above the sea level here). It had been snowing in the areas that are higher than about 1800m above the sea.
Snow and fog in the mountains....

In the south half of my valley autumn is already further developed (due to the mountains there´s less sun and therefore it´s colder)
Not really autumn, but still nice: a 1-year-old Roe buck

Today it has been snowing again. Above 1900m above the sea level.
This is the mountain west of the mountain that I usually show...

Concerning the colour of the trees not much has changed during the past days.
But on Friday morning there was a beautiful sunrise:
And today is a really foggy and rainy day (actually in this direction the mountain I ususally show you is visible...)

you have a nice place to live, Ricky!
these mountains, ehh...
do you think these trees on your picture will turn red too?
have they in previous years? and what about this fall, is it like past in years or not?
we had real shortage of red colour this autumn

All Larches will turn yellow/orange. The Spruces will stay green of course.
This autumn is quite odd - it´s a very warm and sunny autumn. Apart of a few snowy days in higher parts of the mountains there were no signs of winter yet (which is usually the case in October). Right now there are 13°C and sunshine.
Well, and that´s also why the trees stayed green longer than ususal.
But now they are really turning to yellow

Yesterday morning the higher mountains were all white.
Today the snow line has moved further down.
That´s how "our" mountains looked in the morning...
...and that´s how it looks now
