 Thank you for wishing me welcome back. There is still some mess in my PC. Not dangerous. I had connected a monster Printer on my laptop PC, that was it..

It's so strange but I didn't see any squirrel today, not even Blue tits. Where are they?.. it is not very cold weather, -5-6 C only.

27th December! Both squirrels which I believe to recognize, came today. First came the Long Ear Squirrel. They behave a bit differently. This one has quicker movemens, he is like more alert, cautious, but brave he is.

Then appeared he, the Short Eared Squirrel  . He moves more slowly than the first one, and he likes to sit there down on the edge of the feeder. He is also brave but shy, in his way. I think his ear fur has grewn and became thicker..( the window glass is a bit dirty, that's why there are ligt spots on the shoulder of the squirrel.. )

I love this squirrel topic! So amazing to think we can look at squirrels in a garden in Finland, thousands of kilometers away. Long Ears is my favourite!

 Thanks for liking our Squirrels in Finland! Today I didn't see squirrels at all. The weather was warm, +1 C. But I saw fresh tracks of ( perhaps ) white-tailed deer. I have seen also some lesser deer not for long time ago, but can't say what species it was .. or if it was a very young one white-tailed deer. They visit behind the dog fence mostly in night time when people are asleep.

Yesterday I made a snowman. It's ok but it begun to bend down.. Now it's gone! I think I'll build a new one when the weather is suitable.

 Hi, I have sawn the remainings of the snowman to 'bricks' for my snowcastle. It will be ready soon. The dry frosty snow is not easy material to handle. Now is only a part the roof missing! I will make a new snowman when the weather is more wet and it possible to roll big balls of snow! :bounce:

Um - please - what is a snow castle?

It must be a species not native to UK. I shall look forward to learning about it, with pictures of course!

There seems to be a lot of snow in Estonia tonight. How much of it is also in Finland?

Not foreseen in the UK municipal building regulations? :innocent:
Even Swedish kings have indulged in building snow castles, even engaging their troups for it. The snow castle(s) of king Karl XII at Laiuse, E. Estonia - not too far from black storks camera - are now rebuilt every winter as a tourist attraction.
Karl (Carolus, Charles) XII beat the Russian czar's troups at Narva, got beaten by them at Poltava, escaped to Turkey, got back to Sweden, was shot - unknown if by friend or foe - with a silver bullet in Norway 1718. In between he hunted wolves and bears in what is now central Stockholm, and jilted Aurora von Königsmarck, the greatest beauty of that time. And as said, built snow castles while waiting to get to fight again.
