Spring in Tallinn
I can announce that we survived another snowy winter!
Today there was very much like spring in the City!
But do not go to swim yet!

Juta, in your third photo (tree) I was quite sure I could see animal faces. In the lower part of the trunk, where the main branches start, in the V shape, I see a leopard's face. Above that, and to the right, I see - well - maybe a domestic cat, long-haired, light in colour with some darker markings.

Jo it is an Owl! : I just kept looking and looking -- the only thing that made me even wonder if it is an owl, is that I think Juta would tell us there is something in the tree.Jo UK wrote:Juta, in your third photo (tree) I was quite sure I could see animal faces. A very interesting tree, I see an owl, maybe because I love owls and want to see one in this tree?
Guess, this tree would be one of my favorite objects for taking pictures, it's really interesting!
The white flower is an anemone, those white ones and the blue anemone hepatica belong for me to the first days of spring! So lovely to see them after the long winter!

I must go and find that tree again.
I think the owl is the most right to see there.

It is a very nice - wonderful and interesting piece of the tree, Juta. I love trees and pieces of them - old and full of history. And I am a fan of Owls - I miss the Tawny Owl from last year in the forum.juta wrote:I must go and find that tree again.
I am interested in your idea the tree visiting again and if it is possible to find the spot-place to take a similar pic again.
Greetings and best wishes for your trip

This strange flower is well known to me, Kuremari. It could be our "Big Stripe" - this is the name of one of our tomcats which looks similar to your one. We have a smaller one - called "Little Stripe" or "Little Tongue". He has stripes but no teeth and for that he always shows his tongue - so he has two names. And we have two black tomcats, called "Little Dot" and "Little Double-Dot" - at the moment busy with catching birds instead of mice.Kuremari wrote:i found some spring too!

Juta: Please excuse me when I wrote on your sides about our cats .

I don't know how usual shoe trees are in Estonia In Germany I have not yet seen one. All I see are shoes on the road side and I wonder how come one lonely shoe is there?

College students seem to go through this phase. I am afraid that they might kill a tree down the street. I am surprised that they do it there too.juta wrote:And now, can somebody give some scientific explanation to this????
Oh and the one around here is not nearly as bad as in Felis' link.

About the "shoe-tree": I thought that one person hung the shoes higher in christmas-time. This person don't have a chimney but wanted to be the first person who get sweet or gifts. Santa and the rednose took another way to go to earth and so the shoes were forgotten and are still waiting for something special.
