I'm relieved to read from you, Olga! Hope you have enough time and chance to stock up and get ready before the next storm is coming on! Also happy to see that the furry friends are still coming up! Keep safe! And everybody else in the affected areas as well!

Thanks, Felis Silvestris! We were quite lucky here on Squirrel Hill, no house damaged! We will go to watch closer what there is seen here around now that the road is open again!Felis silvestris wrote: I'm relieved to read from you, Olga! Yesterday in the midday I went to check the little forest seen from behind the dog fence.
Walking on the hill top towards the Northern side, 50-200 m far from the dog fence:

The first view on the Squirrel Hill road:

In principle everything looks allright. Much more worse damages could have happened!

The more gray is male, but what is the one with reddish 'hair' on the head? Well, I think that both of the squirrels are male! The more reddish one seems to me to be younger than the gray squirrel.. difficult to say anything for sure.

Thank you all for greeting me and our squirrels! Life on the Squirrel Hill is going on!
All birds are back too, and some new species have been seen: bullfinches! Even though some spruces and some few pines have fallen down, there are still enough of them for squirrels here on the hill

I found a weather map for Europe. Scroll down to choose a country for a forecast.

It looks like the brave little bird hopped right up as soon as the squirrel was busy eating.

Yes, Alice, it's fun to follow how small birds and squirrels behave. Small birds are there 'always'. They seem to be alert, but they don't scare squirrels.
This squirrel is the 'red haired' young squirrel I think. What a sweet nose he has

The squirrel of yesterday morning:
I was so happy that no tree had damaged by Dagmar storm on the top of Squirrel Hill, but I didn't know what had actually had happened.. sad!
look forwards..
