I saw only one squirrel today. A little accident happened. The squirrel was sitting there on the roof edge, then it climbed down, and begun to eat. Suddenly the whole feeder fell down.. the platform was slippy. I have not nailed it because it is easier to keep clean that way.

The blue-tits are soooo cute. I love them.
Near my house, a couple of blue-tits have began to make a nest in the nest-box. It's so nice to watch them.

Black woodbecker it's such a beautiful bird. Great video.
What kind of food do you put on the platform? I don't recognize :puzzled: .

There are peanuts on the platform, half of them gone through a crushing mill. Squirrels like normal peanuts.

Other places I'll put oats, wheat, big and smaller fat balls, small fat pieces (like 'fat pearls') and corn, and sun flower seeds.

There are different seeds in the big fat sausage, these sausages are the favorite of the Black woodpecker.
:D

Good evening squirrel friends

Only one squirrel was seen today. It was a she, a familiar looking one, but, I wonder if she had got some injury on her right front paw.. She seemed not to dare to lean towards the platform with it, not even touch. While chewing and holding the nut she used both paws, but.. I don't know.. I tried to take a zoom of the paw.. one could see there something, like blood on fur, not much, and a little bulge (right word??) (pictures of the paw 'injury' will be there on the last post.

Some times I forget to remove the scratches made by the camera, but how to remove it with youtube tools I don't know..The only mean to take the noises away is to add music on the background.. But how to put it low beforehand, I don't know..

 Anyway the squirrel female ate normal, she spent about 15 minutes on the feeder. Having stopped it climbed on the roof, but I didn't see if she then run over the yard towards the big spruce, or where she went.. Lets hope that the injury is not dangerous and will be healed soon.
----
I had one video more: The Wood pigeons are back. I saw two of today in the afternoon when dogs were inside.

Behind the fence:

In front of the fence, under the apple tree:

The tail of the second wood pigeon can be seen on the video :D
..I edited the video by help of youtube tools, it takes about one hour to get ready, a bit better than it is for the moment, at 22:48.

These days I see one of our squirrels (a dark brown) running to and fro with grass/hay. Funny thing is, it keeps on going up the tree, from the tree to the roof of the house, along the roof, to the next tree, down, up the next one, jumps to another, down again, up another - and there I think the construction site is. If it would just run 3 more meters on the ground, it would be around the corner of the house and could go up the tree it usually goes up after coming down from the roof ... it's really funny to watch it!

Hope you squirrel's injury is healing soon and well, Olga!

Nice to hear about your squirrel

I had no connection today for several hours, and I could not upload videos. They were very short ones. These five pics tell almost all what there was:

At 10:15, the first squirrel, a female but not the same as yesterday:

I divided the previous post into two posts - it's better not to add too many pics in one post:

At 11:15:

The second squirrel I saw only for 5 seconds. It had been there while I was at stores, he left at the same moment I came in my room and got the camera at hands

Edit: It seems to be the same, a male squirrel as on the 22nd March Is there a wound or not?? :puzzled:

Yes, there was a wound, but it seems to be recovering I think

If only one could know if they have been attacked by some prey bird or perhaps by some mammal, Pine marten or someone else. I think I have got to know that squirrels are not so aggressive towards each other...*sigh* :slap:

I got uploaded the video I made of some few fragments of the first one in this morning:

I saw that there are many many flowers blooming in Germany! Our garden is snowy still, or almost pure mud and ice, today it's gray and brown, dirty!

Two days ago it looked like this, seen from my window. It had snowed in the night:

 Hello!

The female with an injured paw visited. She was there almost for one hour at 8:00. I happened to saw her to climb down from the big spruce. She was careful and approached the garden.

 BTW: I think she deserves a name. Let's call her as Paula.

Image
She stopped first on the stone terrace by a sun flower seed pile. She looked to be hungry. She kept her right front paw as same way as on the 26th March we saw that she had got an njury. But she had good appetite. She sat there on the stones for 30 minutes eating all the time.

I waited for her and soon she appeared on the feeder:

The lighting was easier today. Perhpas the injury can be seen better. It may be aching or something like that. She does not use the right front paw for stepping. On the other hand she moves in a normal way as far as I can see.

Some seconds on the videos I have put slow.. there should be a mark 'slow' to see..
