Spider time :shake:

It is not yet spider time here. Knowing that it is spider time there, tells me as much as lots of information about the weather (oddly we had a cool spring and more spiders than usual and they behaved in a kind of fall way -- building webs in paths)

Oh, yes! Thanks. :) There is an actual "white tail" in the upper picture. How do you recognize the eagle from the last picture? Is it the shape, colours, beak or..? (I´m just curious, I would like to learn too. :peek: )

By wedge shaped tail and long "fingers" (primaries flight feathers).

 Thanks vainamoinen and Starling. Yes, I think it would be a sensation to see a LSE or a GSE here (and more with a camera in the hand). It is possible that I see an osprey in the coming time (they all have more time to go south :D )

But I saw a big beetle (6cm?) yesterday or so. Asked a friend, who knows more about insects (I thought :whistling: ). And I sent an Email to an old specialist. But no answer.
Excuse me but I will show the not good pics here. It landed on my track a few moments before

Great pictures from your interesting trips, as always. I like the Swans which are flying..
I can't help you with the beetle though, too many to choose from

Thank you, Fireblade

Sunday we visited a crane sleeping place (not only cranes). Ok there are not thousands like in NE-germany, but a friend counted around 150.

 Thank you Alice. Hope you will post the pictures.
Btw. I think the short trousers time in germany comes to the end this days. At least at 05.00h :D
Thank you Bea, Felis, Manu. And I still want to learn to make good pictures.
The place I was on sunday is the "Sehlendorfer Binnensee", close to the baltic sea with a salt water connection.

Thank you vainamoinen. I think you are right that this are not natural birds in germany. People at the view point were talking about this. Heard yes and no and also: I do not know. But there are also breedings in germany but most of this birds are from captivity. I THINK

The cranes (Pohnsdorfer Stauung) yesterday

Hi Fleur
Sorry that I have no hot tip for your friend. I was not there to watch the cranes. It is a little far away for my bicycle and me. But I heard a lot. Wonderful crane sound. I hope he will have a good time, sure he will see some Wtes a.o. too
Yes the egyptian geese. Saw a not breeding pair this year. Not so nice their hissing. Chased away a poor tufted duck in the air every day.

Today I saw my closest Wte with my eos in my hand. Used the simple sport prog
