As I watched the previous video and the screen caps I realized that I may know Bertha too!

On Midsummer morning Bertha kept her eye that way, half shut and she blinked it:

Image

I said that she looked a bit sleepy, but I 'knew' that there is something,.. There was a wound on the skin behind the eye, maybe something on the fore head, too:

Just a note to remember the day she got the injury:
23rd July in the morning:

Squirrel news from Tokyo today:

About 30 squirrels managed to escape from their netting at a Tokyo zoo after a powerful typhoon, forcing their keepers to initiate a massive operation to recapture them.

The squirrels escaped when typhoon Guchol felled a tree that made a hole in the netting. Park workers managed to capture 18 of them using nets and traps, but the rest were still on the run.

http://www.tokyotimes.co.jp/2012/typhoo ... ss-escape/

Our news paper tells today that yes, 30 squirrels escaped, but 38 have been found and got back! People make still new announcements of squirrels they think have been lost from zoo, all the time.

I have recognized Charley, a rather small, lively and like 'fast moving' male squirrel! I am sure that this male squirrel is he. He curious, fun and sincere. He may have been visiting at the feeder in winter too, but I have not been able to recogneze him. On the other hand it is told that male squirrels are not as devoted to live in certain limited area as the females are.

It was macdoum who gave the name Charley to him for more that two years ago.

Charley as a youngster, in summer 2010:

:gathering: Thank you, macdoum for getting the idea to give names for squirrel individuals. Without any name it would have been totally impossible to find some certain photo or screen capture from earlier years!

My pin board at work will slowly become too small, I have printed this one as well, it's so cute! :loveshower:

"You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals" (Paul McCartney)

 Squirrel Hill today, a Wild Strawberry Hill!

The strawberries grow just behind the dog fence, to the right from the blue gate. This summer I have found them more than never before.

During last week our tile roof has been under reparation like in each summer. That's why squirrels can't visit as often as they would like.. But there are they. Someone of them perhaps is spending time on the pine tree in front of the door, waiting till all people and dogs have gone, and then there they are.

I have some 'old' videos to be added, and 'too many' to be uploaded.. :D Oh my, I have been busy, it's full summer.
