Background Information (from English translation of Dutch webpage)
Last year the cam was placed near the Storks' nest at the British School in The Hague. This year, the camera will follow a nest on the riverbanks of the IJssel (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IJssel).
The usual number of eggs is 1 - 6 and the incubation time is about 33 days.
The young fledge after 63 - 70 days.

macdoum, I have seen some bloody storks on other nests after they have had a battle! Often it has turned out that it is the females fighting.
The English log book (
http://genietvandelente.nl/viewtopic.ph ... 1173#p9020) for this nest said:
"They are loyal, but not as much to their partner as in fact to the nest. When the male returns to the nest, and the female does as well, the same pair will continue to exist, but this is not the rule. As Arda wrote, the male usually returns first. He fixes the nest somewhat, awaiting his partner. But if that takes too long, he might "invite" another female. If he is succesful and his original partner returns, severe fighting may arise between the ladies. He ... will just sit and wait for the outcome."

Apparently, 4th chick died on April 28. It was much less active from the start, compared to the other chick, acc. to the logbook.
Edit: Some webcamwatchers reported it didnot move during feeding (Wed 11 AM), one saw it being hidden under nestmaterial (Wed afternoon), others reported it was pecked at by the others (Wed 3 PM) and was eaten (Wed 9 PM). From the clip "28-04: Nest opruimen" (= cleaning out the nest) I cannot judge ...

There must be another nest in the neighbourhood. The birds were answering each other. How is the sound they make called in english? Do they rattle? In Dutch it is called klepperen.

The storks can also be seen in the night because of the infrared cams. It looks like a spotlight the storks don't see it, for them it is dark and time to sleep.

... and what about the "Wanderfalken" "Slechtfalk" (hawks [coll.: falcon]) - most of the time one find only feathers and rests of food in the nest (I beleave most of that is pigeon?), but sometimes one see (not very good) the birds

... and now to the White Storks - they seem okay and when I am meeting with them there is hardly no change of her doing:
One of the parents is often sitting on the right branch, but most of the time this two birds are alone.
