Re: Iberian Nature Photography
The ecological disaster of 1998 – as poisonous sludge of an iron ore mine flooded the area of Doñana – had consequences. A so called green belt was developed.
And with this photo of the male corn bunting ...
… I would like to invite you to have a closer look at this green belt and its inhabitants:

Imagine: a few days ago Birgit had a flock of 49 bee eaters at her biotope and in the neighborhood Directly above the frogs pond the colorful flock was sitting and hunting and Birgit did not have light for making photos! But anyhow was just enthralled and later after the flock was sitting at the neighbors Birgit had the contrast from the mountains.
Please have a look:
Migration of bee eaters in the homey biotope
What an experience without driving even one kilometer!

Yesterday was an unbelievable exciting day at the homey biotope, because imagine, tens of thousands of honey buzzards are nowadays returning from Africa and hundreds of them were flying over the biotope!
That was emotion pure!
Who wants to see honey buzzards in all shades can find it here:

Birgit and her friends go from one surprise to the next! Because not only the honey buzzards caused a stir, but also these small cute red-rumped swallows:
This photo report no swallow-lover should miss! Birgit is still over the moon with the experienced!

Because Birgits planned Extremadura-journey could not yet be started because of Maxls (=German shepherd) health problems they had been on the weekend at the Strait of Gibraltar at a very special place which they did not know until now, the Faro de Punta Camero:
What was to be seen and experienced there you can find here:

Birgit is back from a wonderful excursion to Extremadura. They went to look for great bustards but much more than these magpies didn’t come in front of their lens in this widths
But all white stork friends will enjoy and all who expect great bustards or European rollers got to be brave, - like Birgit had to be! Enjoy reading:

Birgit made again trip to the Guadalhorce where the black-winged stilts see red nowadays ...
The reason for that are of course the chicks of the stilts. In that case nobody has to look for anything in their territory!
Who wants to see photos from this remarkable and exciting day, please look here:
