Re: Iberian Nature Photography
With pleasure, Macdoum! :)
Birder friends of mine discovered yesterday another golden american plover close to Seville. Thanks to the pictures we could see very well that it is another bird I saw last week.

If you’ld like to have a look, please find the photos of the numerous Waders and Waterbirds, which find a terrific resting place in this area before continuing their migration:

Yesterday we had been at Tarifa, where an unbelievable concentration of Griffon Vultures is. And we were lucky, because this Short-toed Eagle …
… overflew us very low. After we halfway recovered from all this excitement, we continued to La Janda. In the report you’ll learn how a birdwatcher will be able to break a forefinger while desperately wanting to draw your attention pointing out to a young Iberian Imperial Eagle!

Imagine: in the morning I made a walk so to say in front of the own doorstep and found a Crested Coot! There are all over Spain only about 100 breeding pairs:
As also a Kingfisher took seat relatively close by I was sure to go more often to the Rio Verde!
Please find here a short report

For four days we had been in the northern part of Doñana, or rather in the neighborhood area. But birds don’t really know where exactly is the border to Doñana and thousands upon thousands of them are just staying in this passable area. There is a good reason for that, because the rice fields are newly flooded and the whole landscape is underwater. Which means food. Lots of food for everyone! – Because further to that the rice farmers had years ago the idea to get some additional income with American crabs. So they set these crabs out, for sure reprehensible in sight of ecology , because the American crabs robbed habitat from the native species and reproduce unbridled since then.
Ones joy is another ones sorrow, because thousands of Herons and Gulls, Black and White Storks are now unbridled demolishing American crabs.
Never before in my life I saw as many birds as on this journey. Mostly in a very distance because of the huge rice fields. But it was a joy to see them all very well provided.
We were lucky, because the only bird which we could make photo from very near was this Black-winged Kite
In a most marvellous way shared his life with us
Here is the story:

Near Málaga is the village of the large concrete hotels Fuengirola. But there are not only concrete hotels but also a terrific fishing harbour and this very place two of usually very seldom guest selected for their winter holiday, namely a Razorbill and a Red-throated Diver. These two birds I have never seen before, so the joy was tremendous although the photos - due to the heavy sea – are not really sharp
Please find the short report here:

Yesterday Birgit again was at the Guadalhorce-Mouth and brought some cute stories with her. Here the first which tells about a young male Shoveller Duck, an elegant Greenshank lady and the confused love life of a Redshank.
