Finally I saw the Oriole, which I always hear in the garden, and three Honey Buzzards crossing the biotope on their flight to North!

Birgit is still around, - but the heat doesn’t make her move too much, since 2,5 month around 40°C is also not the usual for Spain.

Since a few weeks Birgit already can hear nearly daily flocks of Bee-eaters on their migration to the South. Their calls always seemed to be far away, because they were flying high up. But this morning it was a different story and Birgit was lucky enough that a flock of Bee-eaters took a break in her homey biotope for about 30 minutes. What a fantastic experience!

Finally Birgit was on tour again, after weeks and months of too hot weather. They even saw Whimbrels!

Finally Birgit was on tour again yesterday, namely to the bird migration at the Strait of Gibraltar in the rice-growing area of La Janda. It was just terrific:

Thank you so much for the nice answers and remarks, also in the name of Birgit of course! Here we go again:

Birgit is still around! In the meantime she had been several times for birding, but unfortunately couldn’t bring back suitable photos. Not always lucky. But yesterday they had been at the Guadalhorce-Mouth, where in the meantime several Short-eared Owls …

Before x-mas Birgit was on tour again and is also sending her best regards and wishes for a Merry x-mas and a Happy and healthy New Year! And I of course wish you also a happy holiday and lots of health and happiness for the coming New Year!

And here comes the newest photo report of Birgits excursion, what an experience!:

What a day yesterday at la Janda! And that, despite for hours photographed „only“ one single bird! :) Because this Short-eared Owl ...
