There was a Bird Count in Slovakia last weekend.

One young ornithologist who left his pregnant woman in the morning to watch birds was that day found dead. Killed.
Police arrested a man, the owner of the German shepherds. His 6 dogs likely run from the garden, attacked and caused death of the young birdwatcher!
Investigation is not closed.

Horrible news

This is really a sad news!
Everyone is afraid of wolves. For me Dogs are much more dangerous, if they are not well educated.
A dog has bitten me. They are like crazy, when they start to bite. They do not stop, once they have begun. I was a child when it happened.

How to take care of little ones :D
Wild rabbit mom hides kids near the forester house and every 24 hours digs them off in order to feed.

I saw first the video. Then i found this little "aricle" with the video with subtitles in german: http://www.spiegel.de/video/baer-gerettet-baggerfahrer-befreit-raubtier-video-1700483.html.
This one mentioned by Lubaska, is more in detail. Thank you Lubaska.

A nice video from feeding in a bald eagle nest - they have adopted a hawk chick as part of the brood

"The Finnish Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus):
An adult male Peregrine Falcon of the peregrinus subspecies was captured by poachers on 1 November 2017 in the province of Médiouna adjacent to Casablanca. The bird was fitted on the left tarsus with a golden metal ring bearing the inscription ‘Museum Zool Helsinki Finland’, and on the right tarsus with a blue ring bearing the inscription ‘C5’ (photo 1).

This bird was ringed in a nest located on the ground in a peat bog on 14 July 2013 in northern Finland, about 50 km northeast of the town of Oulu.

The bird was released the same day by the poachers thanks to the negotiations led by the Moroccan Association of Falconry and Raptor Conservation (AMFCR)."

this is not very fresh news anymore but i think a funny piece anyway.
two weeks ago on Jan 31 an eagle owl sat by a traffic camera in Tampere, Finland. the people who monitored the camera slowly turned the camera so that the owl came better into view. the bird was astonished first but soon started to look for prey again.

https://www.mtv.fi/uutiset/kotimaa/arti ... gs.JdIfLjI

i made a Google search for this video with words "traffic camera eagle owl" (in Finnish) and found another video from last year. this snowy owl was filmed with a traffic cam in Canada last year on Jan 3 2016.
https://www.mtv.fi/uutiset/ulkomaat/art ... gs.FRm3rrg

both these events can be found by making a G-search with key words "traffic camera owl". this will give links in English.
