March 19th: good morning!
the lens is partly covered with snow but it's not nearly as bad as it was a few weeks ago. i can see that there are no animals, not even little birds on the ground. they are chirping in the trees around...

the boar with the sick leg doesn't look very sick otherwise: it seems that it's not thin. i think it must be doing rather well after all.venegor wrote:Snow sweeps up wild boars. A wild boar with a sick foot in the foreground
was it limping, Venegor? i mean: was it walking badly?

I have never really noticed the boar with the odd leg limping (maybe my connection is too slow) -- or not much, but I am pretty sure I have seen it growl and push a healthier looking pig away. So I think it is doing pretty well, and has been able to maintain at least some status.
I also noticed at some point during the night when the momma with the two young were there she tries to chase other pigs away, but when 8+ young pigs came bounding in she simply could not keep them all away. So then she and her two went off into the forest.
And the bunch of young ones were not pigs (not a group of pigs) I recognized and they seemed a bit nervous but they were very bouncy. I kind of wondered if some of last years pigs are splitting off from their mom's to form groups of youngsters.

Greetings, AME! With a sick foot for the first time I have exposed a photo of a wild boar on a forum on February, 25th. Then he considerably limped, yesterday I have not noticed it.

I feel so foolish that I did not notice the limp -- what is wrong with me?

i haven't noticed him limping either... actually i have been able to see the bad-legged pig only very few times among the other pigs at all.alice44 wrote:I feel so foolish that I did not notice the limp -- what is wrong with me?
usually it is such a merry-go-round there that it is impossible for me recognize pigs individually (even with this rather clear marker!). the few times i've seen this pig the whole herd has been nice and easy there and none of the pigs have moved fast. then the limping can't be seen either, they just take one step after another quite nicely.
so don't worry: i don't think there's anything wrong... ... or maybe we both are equally blind!
