 I am beginning to wonder if we will see any babies this spring. Shouldn't they be here by now?

Kitty: In Germany last year one saw the first piglets in February - but it was not the normal way. The next ones came about with the piglets here. But this year in our region - it is a typical region for boars - I did not hear about piglets yet. The winter was much stronger than last year and perhaps this is the reason (I don't know 8-) )

Alice: I hope you will not have problems with your computer longer - the piglets were waiting to show themselves so long. Now we can start together to take pictures, when they are arriving.

Let us hope for the best that the boars will not hide the small stripes in the wood.

Do I hear thunder on this cam or is it wind blowing against the micro?
I found a video from the other cam showing piglets on 3rd April (2009)

http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/node/2165

A colleague was in a game park, already weeks back, and the piglets there were already quite big, but that's different circumstances.
So, we will be patient and hope every day :whistling:

(Yes I seem to have almost everything loaded onto the computer and working. MSN messenger was the most difficult.)

Yes, and all the snow is gone now, there were still some places and some small hills.

I have a question:
a new born boar is a piglet (in Germany "Frischling")
the piglet before is now one year old and is called? (in Germany "Überläufer")
the pigs with two years and more are boars. (in Germany "Wildschweine"; male "Keiler", female "Bache")

this bad boar is chasing around and now some of the other ones don't like to run away at all, so they lay down.

 Thank you, everyone, for your reassurances that it is not too late for the little striped piglets. I was afraid that as the weather has gotten nicer, the moms would just keep the babies out in the woods rather than bring them to the feeding ground where they might get hurt in the rushing around that sometimes happens. And I worried that this cam might be closed down as the other was closed a couple of weeks ago. I was sure we would see little ones on that cam as there had been that very pregnant sow at the feeding place, then she did not show up as if she had gone off to have her litter. I have only seen the little piglets on others' videos & photos, not yet live as I watched a cam.

Lots of little birds (KBVs-- it is hard to say what kind as the cam's focus has been fuzzy for some time now) are picking over the feeding ground this morning. I miss seeing the roe deer that we used to see, but they must all be staying back in the wooded areas now.
