Good afternoon. This is very good. But a little strange. Last night I wrote to tech support asking - what happened to the camera? Today, they said, and I was upset because they were told that the camera will not work for some time. And then a surprise.

By the way may be incorrectly translated, what they wrote ...
Here is the text. - "The foresters pulled out their Harvester from the forest and ripped down our antenna cable. In the next few days we will find out precisely what damage has been done and what has to be replaced."

It was a very strong wind and hail, I was afraid that the camera is switched off again.

Wow, that was a storm in the afternoon. I filmed it from office, but had not time to upload it. Hope I'll get around to it tomorrow!

Article is coming up on the frontpage, about interesting times to come. I hope this year it will stay on until the little ones are coming to the ground! :shake: Pleeeeaaaasee! :hi:

Hmmm. And one of Sweden's serious wildlife projects now is to keep out RDs ...
An invasion from Finland is the major threat. It has probably been held back to some extent by the long hard winters up north - leaves less time to get here and become securely established before next winter begins.

Meanwhile some photos and a few minutes of video from a film - Sundasunik, Displaced settler  - about RDs by Rein Maran
http://www.gaviafilm.ee/node/5

THe video is slow to start for me, but it does run, eventually. Gaviafilm has an English home page as well, but the RD video is not there.

Very cute video, and for watching the little ones play, one does not need to understand Estonian.
I know they pose a big problem, I guess almost all over Europe (I have seen pictures of RD in a photo trap in Bavarian Wood in a report on lynxes), but I can't help it, I do find their faces cute! I know - scheme of childlike characteristics ... Ah, now I know why Google translator in the Estonian translation told me that I am stupid ... :rotf:

Did it? Well, it is almost an honour - better probably than being praised by it? - and attack is the best defence, but ... tell, please!

The RDs can come from south, by way of Denmark too, but for some reason that is believed to take more time. Maybe too much densely settled areas in between? However, real raccoons may sooner or later be walking across the Öresund bridge ...

Sort of
Oi, siis tehakse lollusi...
it translated in English
Oh, you are stupid ...
and in German
Oh, du bist dumm ...
and for the heck of it, I just asked it for French:
Oh, vous êtes stupide ...
How does Sweden defend "itself" against the "attack" by raccoon dogs? :puzzled: Not much one can do if they just sneak in, except being on the lookout and kill whatever is seen ... quite sad, after all they are living creatures and do only what their nature tells them to survive and keep their species going! But also understandable, seing the problems they bring with them!

Ow Liis, what a beautiful movie.
thank you

I completely melt at 2.20 sec
at 2.48, I hear the owl call

That bridge is still a long way for the raccoon dogs, do I understand correctly that there is a tunnel also ?
