Last winter I have seen deer, foxes and birds, but I read that elks have been seen as well and I also read about howling wolves. Just be on the look-out!
So i can see some moose? Moose is my favorite animal:)

Do not count on seeing moose/elk, but there is a chance we will get lucky.

We should see:
Jays
Crows
(other birds not sure what maybe Yellow Hammers)
Ravens (singing in the dawn light)
Rooks (I think we have seen these some mornings every year)
Foxes
Raccoon Dogs
Boars (and if we are very lucky piglets in the spring)
Roe Deer and
a Mouse (probably really a vole)

obviously we can hear owls
and I think people have heard a wolf once or twice

but the magic is you just never know when you open the cam what might visit.

We cannot always see what food they put out, but sometimes we think there have been apples. In the past the moose/elk seem to have enjoyed the salt pole the most. Maybe the year they visited they really needed salt. They even licked the camera lens (maybe for salt), which made viewing them pretty difficult for the rest of the night.

Fat, happy raccoon dogs. :D There are light rays shining down from the lantern. Also, windy!

Edit, 2:32-- Also, is it possible? I am hearing what I think may be a crane calling from overhead. It startled me. :puzzled:

Geese certainly fly at night so maybe cranes do too.

(One of the most magical things I know is hearing and seeing low flying geese when the clouds are low at night.)

I am sure it was a crane, I was just startled because I thought they would all have migrated by now. I like hearing geese at night, too. And I love hearing cranes.

Just a few minutes ago a fox ran through at the back. Picture is poor because the fox didn't stand still much.

 All cams but this one were down last night for me. And then for a couple of hours even the Looduskalender web site was also not loading for me. So here are some things from last night, plus one from this morning.

Raccoon dog sits down to eat.

3 Raccoon dogs.

And a short while ago-- I know it is a hunting lodge, but I shuddered to see this!

Every time I looked in the night -- when a raccoon dog was there -- it was eating in the middle. So there must be a variety of foods there, some of which seems better to at least some raccoon dogs.

Yes, when I heard the footsteps, I thought it was someone bringing more food. Boy, was I shocked! I understand hunting, we did a lot of hunting when I was young & lived with my parents, but it was necessary to supplement our food. We were not well off financially. We never hunted just for the "fun" of it. I just hope the hunters there do not shoot their boars close to the cam where we will hear & possibly see it.

Edit, 9:34-- I have an appointment early in my morning, so I will sign off now & go :offtobed: . Goodnight / Good day, everyone, enjoy the cams today. I hope the boars show up soon. I think they have been there as the ground looks quite covered with tracks.

We have been promised they do not hunt any where near where they tempt the boars to come four our feeder.

I hope to see some elk/moose too. But the last winter (2011/2012) I wasn't able to spot them.

This is from January 2010.
