it seems to be sunny here.
there were some jays picking the grain... they flew off but now they are returning.

i like the 'soundscape' here: there is very little electronic noise and the microphone is rather well sheltered from winds. i can hear the footsteps of the jays and the cricking of their peaks as they walk around, picking the grain from the ground.

a lonely deer came to eat grain.... but now it trotted away. it heard something behind the camera.
the Sun is covered in clouds i think...

pigs arrived and attacked the potapples!

the man came to bring food at about 18.17:

two bucket of grain.

thank you.

at 18.20 the pigs returned:

they have been munching there peacefully ever since.

it's beautiful sunshine and a deer is there.
it seems to be very suspicious about the salt block that has fallen down in front of the camera.

now it can be seen that the pedestal of the salt block is a disk cut out of a tree trunk. it seems to be cut of a pine-tree. no wonder the pigs are able to move it around and toss it over.

New food

Jays are happily munching.

now it is snowing quietly. no-one in sight at the moment.

the piggies are here! they are a bit jumpy still.

potapples are vanishing quickly. actually i think that they are apples this time.



one of them is keeping an eye on the surroundings at all times. they shift turns, so that all have time to eat while one of them is en garde.

now it happened again: another group came trotting in and the first group of 8 pigs gave way and retrieved to the back left.

[ame]

now the apples are vanishing really quickly! there are more than ten pigs in this second group. the original pigs are are lurking in the background...





EDIT: i took a lot of pictures of this episode and of the later evening. i'll make a slide show or two of them and add it here later, i'm too tired now....

there are at least 12 pigs in this second group, some of them rather big.

all the apples are gone...

feeding time! later than usual.

lights were turned on and practically at the same time i heard pig squieeks from the forest.

March 17th:
there's a deer! and a jay calling. it's gradually getting light...

(i've got a lot of pictures from last nigth and i'll post some after i get them sorted out...)
