Last time I tried to look after dark is was just black, but today (it is day here) there is light and the deer is munching right in the center now.

You mean starting own web camera? It´s not much needed for basic transmission, but if the camera will be popular and/or is placed in the middle of forest, it is complicated.

For start You need just a basic webcam, usually it comes with streaming software but it is not necessary. You can use, for instance, VLC player, what have streaming functions. So, You can show Your friends a picture from Your home. But home computer and internet connection allows to show for 10 or little more viewers at the same time, not more. For mass streaming You must have datacenter service and broadband connection etc.
