Re: Bear Webcam
Alice your bird looks like a missel thrush, but I wish we could see more of the head and tail of the bird on the tree trunk.

Hmm, it really is! I think the wings seem a little bit darker on your photo, but perhaps that's due to the light?alice44 wrote:It is quite similar
Johannes, welcome!
I haven't been very lucky with the bears lately - either the lie in the grass and you can barely see them, or there are no bears at all in the hours when I can watch. So good some of you are up at the time when the bears arrive so that I can see the photos/videos the following morning. I'm off to bed now, wishing you a good watch and looking forward to reading your posts in the morning :)

I think there is a good chance my bird was a mistle thrush, the wings do seem a little darker but the birds I see rarely look just like the one in the bird book.

Today has been one of the few lovely days (a perfect spring day) so I was out most of the day but while I was around I did not notice anything.
I think I am now hearing a Magpie -- they sound sort of like magical rattles?
I saw them land they are munching, now invisibly, down in the big bear's place.

For "Good morning" it is too late. I met a raven some time ago
13:27 - 13:28
Yesterday at night I noticed an animal - perhaps it was raccoon dog. It was terrible to take pictures - when I have liked, the cam striked. After that the animal has disappeared - this take time about one hour.

@ Johannes: It looks like a raccoon dog.
@Fireblade: Erm... That was strange. Looks like a shadow over the lens of the camera?

I see more often fly on the lens of a camera, and they seem very large

Johannes, when I zoomed the page, it seemed to me that the animal had stripes. Almost cat-like. Difficult to tell with a still image. Interesting, though!johannes wrote:The animal I saw yesterday

I think you are right, Fleur
I watched only with a half eye and saw something black close to the cam. So I started vthe recording too late. Yes, some kind of an insect and not a ghost

This cam is a very mysterious cam at times!fireblade1 wrote: I think you are right, Fleur

Didn't we have a ghost already right at the beginning?

Hi all
Finally registered with ya all! Firstly great web site Looduskalender and some excellent ornithological/ecology interest.
Been lucky enough to watch the smallish bear last couple of nights as well as racoon dog, Mistle Thrush (a pair) and foxes.
BTW. The bird posted in the video and pics flying into the tree on right is a Hooded Crow (Corvus cornix) and the one perched in photos looks indeed to be a Mistle Thrush.
Looking forward to more viewing.

welcome to the group birdingUK
since I am hours and hours behind, I especially love listening to the birds sing in the dawn in my late afternoon/evening.
