And I caught it again at 20:56! At first, it looked like a doberman pincer sitting up behind the small pine tree at the right. Then it moved about & I saw it was a RD.

Raccoon dog is there now. It was at the front looking for food, then it went toward the back by the bush.

Edit-- And now off cam to the right.

Raccoon dog comes to hollow at front

It is going all over the clearing looking for tasty treats. It eats a little here, then goes to the back & eats a little there, then to the side, & on & on.

Raccoon dog is there again, eating something. It was at the front, then moved off cam to the right at the front. I can hear it chewing a little. I also hear JanE's pygmy owl peeping.

I am sure it was a RD, Macdoum, unless I didn't actually see it as clearly as I thought.

Perhaps it will come into view again & we will see it better.

Bye, Macdoum. I am only here for a short time, also. My hubby will be calling me shortly to come pick him up from the grocery store.

Thank you for that information, Jan. I can only hear them faintly, so it is hard for me to know if there is one or are two. Actually, when I first heard it (before seeing your post telling about pygmy owl) I thought it was my breathing as I have asthma that flares up sometime. I thought, what, so I need to use my inhaler now?" Then I held my breath & still heard the peeping sound, so I knew it was from the cam. :rotf:

Yeah, but there's some tremolo sound and jibbering things when they talk to each other

A raccoon dog is there again. It has searched through the clearing several times tonight to find food. Now it is in the hollow at the front. It must not have a mate, because it has been alone each time & usually I see a pair of RDs, not just one.

Edit, 2:56-- Now it has moved out of the hollow & to the right of the screen.

And now I must log off for a while & go out to pick up my hubby, who needs a ride home.
