Good evening Fleur. Yes I also hear it and thought of a bird or toad or something like that. It sounds a bit like rrrrrrrrr rrrrr
Nice to hear it.
I found the sound a bird, the nightjar (PC: nachtzwaluw, geitemelker) makes, it sounds like the sound we can hear on the cam, but I guess a toad sound is somewhat softer...like here.
Yes,this was song of nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus)

Hello, Agatheb2k. I think your unknown animal may have been a raccoon dog.

Thank you very much Kitty KCMO for the identification of the raccoon dog (in french : chien viverrin, and an unusual animal)
No passage tonight even the cuckoo is absent !

We see raccoon dogs here fairly often, & in winter we see LOTS of raccoon dogs at the boar feeding cam! Sometimes 8 or 9 at a time.

Yes because they are not native, I think they were imported into parts of Russia (from China?) to be raised for fur and then they escaped and spread. There are studies going to see how much danger they pose to native birds. And they carry and spread mange to the foxes.
(They are cute, though)
