Re: Alutaguse Forest webcam 2013
Hello All at the Alutaguse Forest Forum! I'm afraid I don't know how to capture the image but I wanted to let you know that there were two elk at the site at 5.10am. They were in view for some time. Best wishes to you all!

Around midnight local time, before May 24th, there appeared some bears who caught attention by the raccoon dogs.
One bear, seemingly adult, was visible relatively close in the right-hand part of the field of view. Also, you could se two bears moving more or less together, always in the backgruound, and joyfully rising on the back legs as bears do. Not only due to greater distance from the camera, these two seemed smaller and also more restless. Were these bears young ones belonging to the adult one also seen - does anybody know?
Very impressive views anyhow!
In the following morning, for a while the lens wasn´t capturing the site and the forest, but the camera was still working with date and time displayed in the upper right corner. The image was fixed and unfocused, perhaps showing the ground below. But there were, during my time of listening, no sounds of people or of camera maintainance activities. What was happening?

Hello Haukka and Lise, welcome to the forum here
It could have been a Mama Bear with her two cubs around. Last autumn we had two (or even more ...) Bear Moms with their cubs here!
There is a hide for Bear- and Animalwatching not far, and for that reason food is applied here. The people who put it out don´t want to be watched through the cam (and us ) and hang a scarf or a hat over the lense during the time they are there.
When they finished their work they take away the scarf and we can see Alutaguse Ground as usual.
You can read more about Alutaguse on the first page of this thread, text also includes links to Natourest and 360 Kraadi, who take care for this camera.

I saw the bears too. But for me those seemed to be small cubs, the 2 nd year one. Which is quite logical because the mating season is on and the 2 nd year cubs are by themselves (they are afraid of the male bear, thats why they leave their mamma bear). Its quite easy to see those young bears during this time- they dont really act like a real brown bears.Haukka wrote:Around midnight local time, before May 24th, there appeared some bears who caught attention by the raccoon dogs.

Feiticeira - thanks for your pictures!
May I ask you to post not more than 5 pics in one post? Could you leave the first five in one post and the other five put in another post?
Thank you very much!
