Here is what Aarne Vaik says in the video from the Käsmu Maritime Museum
"December is here, the Advent Sundays pass, spruces are brought inside for Christmas trees. I have a Christmas tree here too. I am not a forester; I try to save nature. It is not a fresh spruce but one made of dried sticks; there are few spruces growing at sea. So my Christmas tree is made from dry wood sticks from the sea, a sailor’s Christmas tree. (30 s) It will last my time out, and my children can inherit it. All school classes who come here now make one, and take it with them. It can of course be painted green too.
(1 min)But as biologist I worry about our nature. I am Estonian, an Estonian patriot, an Estonian nationalist, an Estonian person, an Estonian citizen. My idea is to bring children out into nature. If children come out in nature they learn to love it. Nature truly means very much to Estonians. Whether we know it or not, Estonians are still in some part Taara-believers, bowing to fire, to water, to nature, hugging trees; the variations are endless. (1 min 50)
Nature is vitally important to Estonians although we might not recognize this every day. Maybe this is why people return home from abroad, it is the nature that they walked in; these biotopes, these smells, sounds: they are imprinted in and on us.
Nature can be enjoyed in many ways, you can look at it from a bus or car window, but it is better to have a backpack and immerse yourself in it.
We encounter something not experienced before, a wonder. A big tree growing from a small seed is a miracle.
All nature is a miracle. Let us be amazed by it."

Before I could switch off my PC for tonight, I just found the translation of Aarne Vaik's thoughts. You are so attentive, Liis!
And I am not very surprised about the content, as I was sure to have caught some of the Estonian key words in his message.
I like this kind of christmas tree! But I reveal here that I almost got a real small tree - the 2nd in my life. It's been blown down from a balcony or st. during the strong winds last week, and after 1 day nobody cared for it I got it with me, on my balcony...
