- I haven`t thought about that, but it is a bit strange. The ice is like a belt across the bay..but now it looks as if the belt is coming closer..or is darkness fooling me

Good morning :hi:
Daylight arrives, and I see stars in the clear sky. The belt of ice is on it's place across the bay, but is it more close to land now?

Beautiful morning at Käsmu! Seems the ice is slowly coming! This year (or season) the Baltic Sea ice reports started coming very late, and the ones I got, so far had only ice far north at the Gulf of Bottnia and at parts along the coast. Previous years had ice covering the Baltic around this time of the year.

Yes, that moment was clear and without any clouds on the sky! Beautiful! I really like my "window to the sea"

PS. guess where AS Latvia the tankership is now: it has been sailing in a circle in front of Rotterdam in the past few days, at least from Jan 24th onwards. it's probably waiting to moor because it's among many ships floating there without moving.... life must be boring out there in the sea! :slap:

i made an album for the pictures i've taken of the locations of AS Latvia and some other ships, too. it's here: http://s561.photobucket.com/albums/ss54 ... %20tanker/
if anyone is interested you can go there and have a look. i don't post them here because they are off-topic.

At the live-cam it is better to see, the picture is too dark.

Thank you, everyone, for the compliments on my photos. I just happen to be able usually to watch at early morning when the sky is changing rapidly, so I get to see some fantastic colors. I like to post them because I know often our European members may still be sleeping or getting ready for the day & have not been able yet to log on to see. I hope if you like the pictures & want them, that you go ahead & download them.

I wonder about that, too. I have seen the aurora on this cam, once quite spectacularly, but this light, I don't know for sure. It may be just glow from a town on low clouds, but the photos from earlier in the day & evening showed clear skies, so perhaps it is. And the glow seems to be far out from the end of the land where the village sits, so I don't know where the glow could come from except for the aurora. The Northern Lights have been very active lately. And in either case, the horizon-glow is making the night cam look pretty!

Yes, thank you, Pitti. I am at the computer much earlier today. Well, actually, it is now 5:00 PM for me, but still, much earlier than the past few days! :D
