this has little to do with Käsmu but i hope you don't mind. the tanker ship AS Latvia which was floating idle around the peninsula to the West of Käsmu since New year's day has finally started to move. it's now sailing on the East side of Gotland on the way to Rotterdam.

it has come to my mind that maybe it was hanging about there as a "gas-station" for other ships. Thor Liberty, a ship carrying missiles without all necessary papers and with badly loaded explosives cargo was grounded in Kotka some weeks ago by Finnish harbour officials. after all this were in order it left first towards Tallinn for taking fuel but it never went all the way to the harbour. instead it took fuel from some boat moared near the coast. maybe from this Latvia-tanker.
here's a website with news of this Thor Liberty case on Finnish Broadcast company's page:
http://yle.fi/uutiset/news/2012/01/thor ... 53792.html

and to be not completely off-topic here's a fresh picture from Käsmu. :D
i think those white spots in the water are just rocks covered with snow and not swans.

The blue/grey colours are beautiful I think.
15:46 - the sea is calm. I wonder if the white spots in the bay are swans, but I am not sure :puzzled:

It is so much to see at the winter eagle cam, but Kasmu is also beautiful this morning. The sun is shining, and just now I heard an alarm or something..

More visitors in the afternoon:
- a person comes, stands for a few minutes and seems to look beyond the sea..
Image
- moving closer to the water..
Image
- another person appears, disappears behind the house corner..

it's a shame that it seemed to be cloudy weather today.
there are news that a big solar storm is in progress and that is producing disturbancies in the magnetic field of the Earht. these disturbancies will produce bright aurorea but these can't be seen through a thick cover of clouds. :slap:

it seems that nothing can be seen in the camera here.... i can hear the waves rolling on the shore but the only lights are from the buildings on hte shore on the left. the sky is dark. sigh...

Good morning! I saw a dog walking along and thought it would be nice to show. How I would like to be there for some days, walking along, too. I love snow and we only had some in my region of Germany twice for one day this winter.

What a wonderful day!

It looks like a line of ice, that slowly comes closer and closer.
Pictures are made at a distance of about 40 minutes beetween the first and the last.
