Kasmu Webcam Discussion 2011

Post by Kitty KCMO »

The Kasmu cam is online again after being off for 2 - 3 weeks, so maybe that is a good omen for the seal cam.

I'll post a couple of pictures just so we can look at the sea, though I know they should go somewhere else. There is no Kasmu cam forum.

:hi: Fleur! I really like Kasmu cam, & I was surprised when it was on, & when I saw the deer walking along.

Cam came home!! :loveshower: The beach was now all covered with ice, & very windy. Cam remembers all its tropical adventures fondly.

LOL! Cam thought about it & decided to disconnect again. :slap:

 Hi, Alice. It was only a quick glimpse before the connection broke again, & from the looks of it, we aren't missing much. Lots of snow & ice, mainly. The other cams have a lot more action. I was not watching these cams last winter, so I don't know if we would see any seals-- don't they stay farther out from shore on the ice?

Last year we saw foxes -- mating and carrying some kind of white bird carcass and 2 moose/elk that even fell through the ice (and escaped walked away), some eagles and swans when there was less ice and hardly any seals.

If only we could be sure of a stable connection to the cam. I'd like to see what creatures are coming there this winter season. I guess all we can do is continue to check periodically to see if there is a lucky break & the cam is on.

It's getting late & I am going :offtobed: . We had about 9 inches of snow today & this evening. It may be still snowing, I'll have to look. But it makes good sleeping weather! So goodnight for now. I hope you are doing OK in your part of Oregon with all the rain that has been out there.

Thanks kitty for the picture.

I took a coffee break.
Now I know that we occasionally have to watch the cam if it does

 night kitty

So far so good -- a few roads got washed away or covered by floods, but other than squishy ground it is not too bad around here -- colder and dryer this evening.

oh wow! the seal cam has returned! :loveshower:
the battery was tired in the morning but it got recharged in the sunshine so that it operated till rather, almost normally late. tadaa! :headroll: and the sea opened during the day. that means that there may be almost any kinds of 'normal' life forms there, not just crows.
thank you all for pictures and videos!
