Now kalakotas is not empty. Oxana flew in, then Madis flew in and you should have seen the shocked look on Oxana's face. :rotf: Madis now rearranging the sticks that Oxana just arranged.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I believe Madis attacked Oxana, again. I could not get a shot until this one, even though I saw more of it before this. 14:27

But it is so stormy today, Chimega, that the birds have difficulties, to keep their balance in the nest.
Sometimes they nearly fall off and start fliying at once, and, if they are both in, it might look like attacking the other one, if they unfold their wings...!

Same thing: if they loose balance and have to start quickly, they take place sometimes on the camera-post - both did that already.
You hear it, if their wings hit the microphone. When one bird looses balance there as well and leaves quickly, landing in the nest underneath, it looks like "Kamikaze"...!
The one in the nest has to go out of the way, but it still looks, as if the other bird tried to jump on his back, or, as if he, Madis, wanted to mate Oxana...!
A strange passion is moving in my head, my heart has become a bird which searches in the sky.

Oxana is not so noisy as the first two days when she came.
She and Madis seem get familiar with each other more.

Well, now he came with a fish and she took it and pecked him... and now she flew away... maybe a trick by madis to have the nest for himself? ;)

btw: are just the females calling so loudly? As far as I can remember I didnt hear anything from madis this year?
What do you hear? Nothing but the rain.

Hello all you wonderful chatters .. have not seen you since last year.
I have a technical question I hope some of you smart people can help me with.
Whenever I try to open a video on here I click on arrow and the screen goes white. I am unable to view any of the videos. What am I doing wrong? :bash:

BTW .. I am not giving up on Piret and I don't think Super Madis is either .. I just love those two together.

Madis can be extremely loud! :D
I remember, last year, it was not necessary to look on the screen, because you could HEAR him coming! He was so loud that it was just impossible to have a telephone call at the same time (at least without turning the volume down).

18:30 Madis arrived with a small clump of grass in his foot. He sat on the nest and preened a bit. A few soft calls were heard from the distance, but Madis did not pay much attention.

18:54 Madis flew off

REQUEST

It is truly wonderful to see how many people are interested in this osprey nest! :loveshower:

Many of you will remember from last year that we tried to keep track of when fish were brought, what kind they were, news about matings, eggs, etc. (a chart of fish deliveries in 2012 is coming soon).

Several biologists also read this topic to learn what is happening here. In order to make it possible to collect data more efficiently this year, could all of the posters please:

1. post the nest time of any observation that you make

2. name the fish species if you know what it is

3. limit conversation here to information and observations about what is happening in the nest - friendly greetings and conversations about other topics can be posted in the accompanying chat thread: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=573

Thank You!

Hello everyone - good to see you again :loveshower:
I've just read the story of Oxana the Intruder and her sly tricks to seduce Madis the Magnificent  Maybe she's a close relative of the extremely
seductive lady squirrel from the Ice Age 3 ?
19.10: two ospreys in the nest, after a very short while one of them leaves
19.13: the bird that stayed in the nest and kept tweeting and chirping softly and sweetly for three minutes also leaves
