NEST OBSERVATIONS ESTLAT Osprey Nest 1 Madis & Piret ~ 2012

Mind the eggs Madis.
he arrives with a piece of fish.

What happened next, I didn't see.

Edit: but I think Madis flew away with it, because Piret is still at the nest, calling now and wanting to eat probably.

was away from cam. some hour in the afternoon, since I was back again I had now and then some looks and have seen

17.45 Madis was on eggs and afterwards noise from upstairs, so Piret was probably there

18.24 Piret came in nest with a twig and Madis flew off

19.09 Pires more alert than usual (a snipe was heard twice)

19.13 Piret pipped few times and I had to look when I came to the screen the nest was empty. But just a minut later Piret was back on eggs and now

19.59 Piret flew off, seconds later Madis came in nest with a fish, then Piret arrived again, wanted to take the fish, but Madis wouldn´t allow her and flew away with his prey. Piret stayed and is now on eggs

Purely by accident this became a nice picture.
Piret was calling and Madis listened and brought a good sized fish, which I could not get a picture from.
Because they were both standing in front of it.
Piret flew away with it, and I was 1 second too late :)



Now Madis is on the eggs.

I so enjoy watching these birds and listening to the birdsong in the background, and as I have said before thank you for the stunning captures. Sunset is particularly beautifull, colours amazing.

20.13 Madis came with fish and this time Piret was allowed to get it and she left nest with the food, Madis stayed
21.01 Madis still on eggs
21.24 Piret was appearently upstairs, flew of and was seen flying around the nest a couple of times. Madis stayed in nest but was very attentive.
22.12 Madis still on eggs - a snipe was heard more times
22.20 almost dark - Piret landed upstairs and Madis left nest and half a minut later Piret came to nest.

Madis arrived with a big headless fish, but found nobody home.......

but then Madis came with a very large fish



Piret flew away with and Madis stays on the eggs.
