Nancy, looking at your pictures it seems Madis is made more "redundant": Piret hunts herself.
Poor Madis, no more sitting on the eggs allowed, not feeding the chick.

He has to make a big switch over, while it seems he liked being on the eggs.
Yesterday it seemed as if he wanted to feed the chick, shredding very little pieces of fish.

He has to wait untill the chicks are bigger and may be then he can take up his role as a Daddy again.

Can't help it, but the way Madis behaves while taking those little pieces of the fish I have a strong feeling he would very much like to feed the chick. But then Piret returns and the moment is gone.

Some notes from today:

10:52 Piret in the nest, Madis upstairs (shadow is visible). She feeds small morsels to the chick
10:54 Now she eats
10:55 Fish remains at the edge of the nest; Piret near the chick
10:58 She leaves the nest
10:59 Madis, who was there all the time, lands close by the chick. A brief look at junior, then he crosses the nest and gives his attention to the fish. He eats until Piret comes back
11:01 Piret back, Madis stops eating
11:02 He continues, Piret stands close to the chick
11:04 Madis leaves the nest, Piret settles on the eggs. There are still two fishtails in the nest

11:38 Feeding, but just one very small piece for the chick

12:23 Maybe she´s feeding the chick, but she´s with her back to the cam, it´s not visible

12:31 She gets up and settles down again, a lot of chirping under her all the time

12:48 Now she´s falling asleep for a moment every few minutes

13:00 Piret gets up and stretches her wings. Madis is "talking", he´s still upstairs
13:03 - 13:14 She´s eating, back to the cam, so I could not see if she was also feeding the chick. She stands on the edge of the nest for a while and worked a little with the nest material
13:20 She settles on the eggs again
13:22 Suddenly very alert. She looks around attentively, than she rearranges some twigs. Now she´s struggeling with a large piece of bark. I´m not sure, but it might be that this piece of bark scared her at 13:22 when it flapped in the wind
13:30 She put the bark on the chick and removed it immediately. There seems to be a lot of disturbing stuff at the moment... she struggles with the bark again; it´s on the edge of the nest now
13:36 Nest work seems to be done for the time being

Mom is so very busy reorganising the nest: deeping out the nestbowl, replacing bits of bark, wisps of straw giving a new place, etc, etc.

one of them has been robbing a salmon farm, it seems.
No other fish has that pink-orange flesh colour; wild salmon is a rather paler beige-yellow-pink.

Madis arrives at the nest. I am convinced he wants to feed the chick also, but Piret grabs the piece of fish out of his paw and starts feeding.

Edit: after a few bites it has had enough. Piret keeps on trying to persuade it to eat more, by making sweet sounds.

See that hole on the left top of the egg in the back, with the little white thing in it?
Piret went in it twice with the tip of her beak.
I don't know if it is a real pip, or something else
