There was a fish delivery that I partially missed due to freezing jumping cam.
All three youngsters were there and Nori the hungry got it.

OK, now I am confused. I thought that was Madis bringing the fish and he crashed into Uno but it's Nori that has the fish so now I don't know who the other one in the photo is.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Just before Uno flew onto the cam.
Now I see Nancy has almost the same picture -- well a bit later, but Uno is so endearing looking up at us. And here you can see Elo giving Nori the evil eye.

So funny how S9 stares at that fish and wants it so badly he can almost taste it. :)

I was wondering if Nori has any troubles eating what with those fierce stares coming her way! (She seems to be eating contentedly.)MarshaMay wrote:So funny how S9 stares at that fish and wants it so badly he can almost taste it. :)

Both Elo and Nori seem to be eating.
Elo had the tail.
It does seem that Elo's bit was smaller

Yes, I wonder that, but then she seems pretty much oblivious except when S9 sneaks up to get a bite. So funny...no sharing allowed I'm thinking. :)alice44 wrote: I was wondering if Nori has any troubles eating what with those fierce stares coming her way! (She seems to be eating contentedly.)

Did you see did Elo steal a bit? I am not sure how he (she) got the food he was eatingMarshaMay wrote: Yes, I wonder that, but then she seems pretty much oblivious except when S9 sneaks up to get a bite. So funny...no sharing allowed I'm thinking. :)
There is a push pull thing about how much energy they put into protecting their food. I notice on the winter feeding ground the adults just give a little shake, the ravens back off and they continue eating, but the young ones mantle and jump and turn about spending lots of energy fending off thieves instead of eating --- but loosing food even to a sibling could be a serious problem.

Poor little S9, Elo...missed out again after staring down Nori's fish for the last 30 minutes.
