17.55 Piret feeding, chick 2 and 3, chick 1 lying behind them………………….
18.03 Piret still feeding, now chick 1 and 3. Madis was suddenly in nest with a fish – with head - he started to eat and after a couple of minut chick 2 came to him to get food, and Madis responded positively, but did eat in between too.
18.08 Piret had no more fish, began to clean up the mess her feeding has caused and get closer and closer to Madis
18.12 Madis stopped feeding/ eating stepped backward and left. Piret then took his fish and offered chicks food again, but they didn´t needed much…………………..

few minuts ago footsteps under nest was heard, Piret looked attentive but wasn´t alert and did quick relax again

have a nice evening :hi:

WELCOME to all the new forum members! :gathering:

20:16 I think the oldest is on the left in this picture. #3 looks terrific - and I too saw a big change overnight.

Thank you again to all for some amazing captures and interesting posts. I am so pleased that no3 is looking so good and healthy, and it is such a contented nest.
I do not have enough time to watch, so am really thankful for the picures and updates. Thankfully there does not seem to be any aggression between the chicks so far, and I expect that is because there is a good supply of fish to the nest.
So good to see lots of new members like me. Have been watching since before eggs were laid and became hooked straight away.

July 2

Notes from Pontu archives: *probably "parent" is Piret in all cases from 2:59 through 4:55

2:59 hard to see, there is only a thread of light, but parent seems to have gone off the nest

3:03 Parent returns
3:36 still sitting on the edge of the nest http://pontu.eenet.ee/kalakotkas/2012-0 ... -03-36.jpg
3:46 Parent has left the nest http://pontu.eenet.ee/kalakotkas/2012-0 ... -03-46.jpg

4:13 parent returns http://pontu.eenet.ee/kalakotkas/2012-0 ... -04-13.jpg
4:16 parent away http://pontu.eenet.ee/kalakotkas/2012-0 ... -04-16.jpg
4:17 parent is back http://pontu.eenet.ee/kalakotkas/2012-0 ... -04-17.jpg
4:35 chicks alone on the nest

4:55 Piret returns and leaves in a flash - then returns. Madis delivers a large fish - feeding!

Thank you Nancy M for early morning feed and wonderful pic of that enormous fish being fed to chicks. It makes me happy first thing to know that all have been fed.
What truly marvelous parents Madis and Piret are, and it such a privilage to be able to watch these magnificent birds.
Looks like it is raining at the moment, and chicks trying to shelter under Mum.
It is becomming more doficult for her to cover those wrigglers, bless her

Hi everyone)

I've missed the moment of delivering the fish, feeding started, but only for one chick, the second made himself clean

Image

After that he joined to the process, but chick3 was in unfavorable position under 1 and 2

Image

And YAHOO))) the third one got food too :loveshower:
