Hi everyone!
Greetings from Finland. I am addikted to this website since three weeks now and very happy to follow all the happenings in the nest.
We have a webcamera too, in Hailuoto, but those chicks there are still so small, last one was born just 2 of july.
Nice summertime for all!
Kristina

Kristina, "your" Osprey in the centre of the nest is about the same age as our youngest Nori.tikanpoika wrote:Hi everyone!

Edit: Summertime? Which Summer? It feels and looks more like Autumn here in the Netherlands

20:01 - While Piret is still feeding Nori, Elo decides he wants another round and sits next to Nori. Nori eats a piece of fish and Elo is NOT happy and makes himself big, gives Nori the evil eye and chases Nori away - without pecking though, but Nori went straight into the submissive position.
20:17 Nori has found the previously halfway burried fish, sits on top of it, and tears off small morsels himself and eats them. Then Piret takes the fish and continues to feed Nori, who is soon followed by Uno.

At 19:23 Piret jumped into the nest, Madis arrived an instant later and brought ½ fish. Miguel has captured the moment. Good picture, Miguel!

thanks for your "digging" concerning deliveries
To continue a talk from yesterday your video also shows that the chick that didn´t participate in the feeding at the beginning (Elo I think) who found a part from a fish in nestbuttom do not have any idea of how to handle this yet, although it try to get some bites from the fish and it then gives up.
I have looked up in my best book about this theme and it says that until the chicks are 5-6 weeks old they are feed by the female. - Time will show if the author is right.
And I´ll add another delivery to yours too - also found in Punto archive:
http://pontu.eenet.ee/kalakotkas/2012-0 ... -06-15.jpg
and together with another one later reported by jopie in forum 8.56 it was the explanition too why the chicks were so calm during the period I had time to watch during late morning
And welcome to new members in forum
