17:01 - Madis delivers a large fish.
17:02 - Piret looks away, and both Uno and especially Nori want that fish.
17:03 - Lil' Nori is a smart (and hungry) osprey chick and claims the fish for himself, dragging it underneath that branch and away from the others.
17:05 - Piret moves in and helps Nori with the fish.

17:19 - Elo decides that Nori has gotten enough fish and that it's her turn, thus again pecking violently at Nori.
Poor Nori squeals and moves away.
17:23 - Uno moves in and demands his share. Elo has still, after all previous eating, pecking and flapping, this downy dot on her beak.

Nori ate about half the fish before Elo chased him away.pinkish wrote:Nori didn't eat anymore

Pretty sure i just saw Nori get fed half a fish (maybe even more) by Piret, then Elo moved in to check for left overs (with teh fluff still on her beak ) and then finally Uno became a bit interested and checked too. (With Nori resting and digesting after a quite a good meal i think).

17:52 - Elo is satisfied, moves away and is bothered by that branch sticking out. Nori moves in for more food.
Nori gets fish and Elo finds out it's best to step on that branch.
17:55 - Uno moves a bit closer again but lets Nori eat the rest of the fish.

That is sweet indeed!! Uno is female and already has motherly instincts?Kukelke wrote: 16:42 - This is the coolest and cutest I've seen today. Uno finds another fishtail in the nest, and starts to eat from it. Nori moves closer and Uno feeds Nori! Not once but he fed Nori three pieces.

Moana, we are just guessing - no one knows which ones are male or female.
20:55 Nori stretches

Madis delivers a late snack - it looks like a small fish. One of the chicks tried to get it away from Piret, but I think Piret herself had a morsel or two. Elo and Nori were fed some bits, Uno did not assert him(her)self.
21:34 Piret flies away.

I thought that Urmas said that most likely Uno is male, and that Elo is female? - until the DNA-samples will tell what they are ofcourse.NancyM wrote: That is sweet indeed!! Uno is female and already has motherly instincts?
But yes, it puzzled me too... what triggered these maternal/paternal instincts?
I've seen that with barn owlets too, but there it was the youngest who 'fed' his older sibling from a stockpile of mice and voles he had (and after he had eaten the 'good' parts himself first).
Also, on more than one occasion I've seen Uno wait 'till Nori is fed before he moves in. When Elo is alone with Piret, he doesn't seem to do that. And Uno never pecks at Nori, while Elo does it on an almost daily basis.

Just before Madis arrived with the late night fish:
And head to head after the fish was finished:
And another picture for the family album - all gathered on the nest during an epic sunset:
