thanks Maniano :2thumbsup:
now I at least have learnt that fish with that shape and colour probably is a carp.

And concerning the fish in the morning - it was a long, rather slim fish as I saw it, not shaped as these carps

And have a nice time the next week - hope you´re going for holiday :hi:

19:03 - 19:05 - Piret lands on the nest with a branch, disturbing the kids, first Nori, then Elo. Nori rises up and stretches his neck to see what is happening. Elo who also got disturbed by Piret moving this branch, sees what Nori does, and interpretes this as Nori being defiant. Elo threatens Nori, without actual pecking, but the message was clear. Nori submits and bows his neck.

20:24 - An intruder? Even Piret is flat in the nest. Sounds of another bird closeby, and it wasn't an osprey. I'm far from sure but it could be the sound of a white tailed eagle.

Piret jumps from the cam into the nest and makes the same movements with her wings like yesterday.
Alarm calls and lying flat.
There is another bird (same as yesterday) to be heard, with short, sharp calls.
Don't know which bird it is but is causing great distress for Piret.

Image

Edit: I am thinking about a buzzard :puzzled:
Maybe if someone has a video of that time, somebody will recognise the intruder bird?

I agree, it wasn´t another Osprey and I´m also sure it was not a White-tailed Eagle.

But another raptor yes with that kind of call, but not a Buzzard either I think, have never heard a Buzzard with such sound.
I did think more of a Goshawk, but do not know its voice.

edit: don´t know if there are Golden Eagles nearby, otherwise it could be a posibility too perhaps?
Did see at the feedingground in the winther that all other birds in fact did have a lot of respect for the Golden Eagle visiting the place

Here you can hear the sound of a buzzard: http://sounds.bl.uk/Environment/British ... 375-1200V0
I'm pretty sure it wasn't this kind of sound we heard.

I was myself thinking about a white tailed eagle, which sounds like: http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdgui ... index.aspx
Not 100% sure about this, but pretty close to how I remember the sound which caused the distress for Piret.

Could be this, but I'm not sure.

Sound of golden eagle: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/golden_eagle/sounds
It was definately not this sound.

Thanks Kukelke, that helped a great deal: not a buzzard for sure, neither a WT Eagle, it was a much "lighter" call we heard.

20:50 - Fish delivery. Elo grabs the fish and starts hobbying with it.

Image

Soon Piret takes over and Nori gets fed, undisturbed for now.

Image

21:02 - Elo moves closer, Nori sees this and automatically backs off. Elo being fed now, but Nori still close and looking for another bite. After a while Nori moves away.

Image

21:09 - Feeding done and the fish devoured. I don't think Uno got anything this round.
