Re: ESTLAT Osprey Nest Webcam Discussion 2012
Nancy Thank you! And thanks also for your pics :).
5:40 Madis returns with a big fish! Feeding time.
5:42 Madis leaves. They are sooo hungry, but the youngster is too tired to put up its head :/. I think it got nothing.
5:51 Piret brooding again, biggest chick looks like a turkey, haha.
And I go to bed now, GN!

7:16 Piret has been preening and snoozing,
7:17 but leaves again, for just a minute
7:19 another feeding
7:22 Chick #3 gets a bite of food - only 3 hours after hatching!
7:24 Feeding is over, Piret settles down to brood. I think Madis is on the cam (based on noise)
7:41 It starts to rain. The chicks are well protected by Mama Piret.

Some things become clear after the event: It was not a crack I saw but must be dirt on the egg.
Still visable now the chick has hatched:
it was a strange crack anyhow

So now we are 3. Congrats to Madis and Piret and a big thank you to all for the wonderfull pics and videos. Remains very windy on the nest, hope it dosnt get any worse, also looks like it is raining. Warm and sunny in London (for a change)
Are the chicks given names and are they ringed from this nest??
Madis seems to be good at fishing, does he have to fly far for his catch?

stream is behaving odd today -on and off (for the moment off again)
and here Piret with two heads
13.53
edit: has others than me noticed that during the latest days there has been a delay of some seconds of the sound compared to the picture.
This may means it´s easy to make wrong conclusions especially about deliveries if one is not looking too at the picture but first looks after the sounds of wingflapping was heard
