And Piret now on the nest is making soft sounds too. Difficult to describe the sound she makes, in English.

Edit: dictionary says "clucking" is a good word for the word I mean

:hi:

thanks jopie - because you heard these sounds too :2thumbsup:

I´m very much in doubt if these sounds were made by Piret, because I have few times earlier, since lunchtime, when I had a short time for looking, heard them. But earlier not so loud as this time. And every time I have noticed these sounds was at a time an adult didn´t covers the eggs - also when Madis was up a bit earlier at 19.08

Is something going to happen now????

Must be quiet hot on the nest as Piret is panting. As this is my first year watching this nest, can someone please tell me if these birds were here last year or are they new to this nest, and if they were here last year did they rear any chicks ??
Clucking is a lovelly word Jopie.

BHP, I was wondering the last time when Piret was starting to cover the eggs, if it were the eggs which I was hearing. With Madis it was obvious (to me) it was him, when turning the eggs, he made that clucking sound. Glad you heard it too, if it were the parents or the eggs? Difficult to say, but a new sound anyway. It means hatching is near. Very exciting.

BHP, with Madis I was convinced it was him because it was 10, 12 times that sound. With Piret I was not totally sure, because I heard it only 3, 4 times.

It is now even audible with the eggs covered. This is really emotional, such a sweet sound.

It is possible that this is a pip, at the right side of the egg

Left egg was moving and it almost seemed as if Piret was frightened by it, she suddenly jumped up.

And starts redecorating the nest......

This was what I was hoping for. Piret wasn't calling for food but Madis came with a large fish anyway.
I was wondering if Piret would go away wit it, and she did not!!

Edit: both very quiet now, but excited with moving through the nest and looking at the chick.
I am so very happy it happened before dark!! :loveshower:
