Good morning everybody,

NancyM asked:
"5:29 Madis arrives with a new fish. What kind is this? I'm sure it is not the same carp species!"

We think the fish might be a pike..? The head looks very "pikeish".

Have a nice day

Few minutes later 3 wobbles over there too

Image

All 3 had eye-contact at a certain point, but it did not end in a "match".

They sank down and looked the other way.
Have not seem them "fighting" during the last day's

Hello everybody,

as to the various fish species fed to the chicks, the fish Madis delivered at 5:29 am looks pretty much like a grey gurnard (sea fish), (posted by NancyM at 5:36 am)

At last: result! I heard Piret giving the sound which she makes when Madis is arriving and pressed the button

Image

Looks like a good sized trout.

(Macko is that possible? Madis came from behind the nest.)

Soon after the feeding is finished Piret starts working at the interior

Image

but the large branch falls the wrong way and the 3 chicks in a row, according to age, are watching her.
Uno is even "helping" but Piret can't pull it back.

Image

Piret jumps into the nestbowl and starts tucking at another branch to push it against the "lost" one.

It seems to be hot in the nest...
It's nice to see Piret give some "shadow" to the chicks with her wings and body...
