Re: ESTLAT Osprey Nest Webcam Discussion 2012
Hi!
I've been reading this topic for days and I finally came to say hello to all the Kalakotkas friends.
I'm a Spanish follower living in Rome, so I follow our Osprey nest from Italy or Spain.
I'm happy to see that the little #3 is growing well, at the begging I was really worried...
Thanks to all the members that post the images and describe the daily live on the nest!

My how they have grown. Its interesting to see how the colours of chicks and nesting blend so well. I was just thinking that it may be difficult to tell who is who when they have grown, as all three have golden plumage on the nape and back of their heads.
I was catching up on yesterdays blog, and was very interested in the pellet discussion. I just wanted to say, what happens to the bones that the chicks digest ?
as they also are fed bones from an early stage, and I have never seen any sign of pellets in the nest. I hope that someone out there knows.
Many thanks to all for such a great forum, and for all the wonderful pictures and posts. Apart from being a joy to watch. I find I learn something new every day about these amazing birds. Also its good to share this with like minded people.

Web cam 2 is working, so let's hope it is not because of a wrong jump by one of the parents

Yes, I'm hoping it too, but the sound is also off so maybe one of the parents caused it?
Edit: and none of the other cams have this problem, so I fear for the worst

Isn´t it time to talk about names for our chicks?
What about “Uno” for C1? Nancy or someone suggested it. I would like to suggest “Nori” or “Nóri “ for C3. It´s the name of a dwarf which is mentioned in the Old Norse poem Völuspá. The meaning is “tiny”.
And wasn´t there a group which wanted to name one of the eaglets? Can´t remember.
